Slideshows from the 9th september conference on reasoning

The one-day conference took place in the Cité des Sciences in Paris today. For those who couldn’t attend the meeting, here are some of the slideshows presented today.

David Over (associate member of PARIS, Durham University) gave a wonderful introduction and overview of the old vs. new paradigm in the psychology of reasoning, focusing on the conditional.

Ikuko Hattori (Ritsumeikan University) gave a very nice talk about causal reasoning, presenting new results about the cultural differences between Japan and France.

Yoshimasa Majima (Hokusei Gakuen University) explored in depth how “initial” hypotheses were made, focusing on the 2-4-6 and similar tasks.
